Amy is an Occupational Therapist with a passion for helping children become empowered, regulated, and confident within their bodies and environments. Amy’s clinical specialty and passions include sensory integration, nervous system regulation and polyvagal theory, and visual rehabilitation for pediatrics. She enjoys working on the foundational skills needed for higher level skills.
Amy received a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Shenandoah University. In the last 12 years as an Occupational Therapist, Amy has worked in a variety of pediatric settings from school-based, private practice, and early intervention.
Amy uses a child-led and play-based approach based on the interests and skillset of the children she works with to develop a plan that is tailored to the child and family individualized needs. She enjoys taking a mindful approach during her sessions while utilizing family-centered care to build strong rapport. Amy has training and certifications in Ayre’s Sensory Integration, Unyte Safe & Sound Protocol and Integrated Listening Systems. visual rehabilitation for pediatrics, SOS approach to feeding, Handwriting Without Tears, and reflex integration.
When she’s not working with children, Amy enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking and camping, cooking and baking, yoga and meditation, volunteering, photography, painting, crafting, and traveling.
