Athena is a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist Assistant whose interest in the field was sparked in 2006 when she was inspired to enter the field by the wonderful Speech and Language Pathologists that worked with her own child in speech therapy. Athena received her Associate’s of Applied Science as a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant in 2011. She also earned certification in Early Childhood Education from Portland State University in 2012 and certification in Rural Social Sciences from Portland State University in 2013 while working towards her Bachelor of Science degree.
Athena began working with children in a professional setting in 2010 and was hired at Creating Pathways in 2018. She loves to meet the child where they are and feels honored to help families on their unique journeys in traversing communication disorders.
When she’s not working with children, Athena enjoys spending time with family, whether it be cooking, listening to music, heading out the Oregon Coast or gathering with friends… and yes, she really does like llamas!
